one night Nadi

We fly first to Nadi, Fiji. On arrival we transfer to our hotel near the airport, where there will be time to settle in and relax before gathering together for a welcome group dinner.

five nights Tokyo

Today is yours to relax and enjoy the tropical surrounds of the Sheraton Fiji Golf & Beach Resort. Spend the day at your own pace with time to unwind by the pool, take a stroll along the white sandy beach, swim in the warm Pacific waters, or simply soak up the beautiful island atmosphere.

Later in the evening we return to Nadi and transfer to the airport for our overnight flight to Tokyo.

Day 3 Arriving in Tokyo, we transfer to our hotel where early check-in has been arranged so you can head straight to your room after the journey. The remainder of the day is free to rest or begin exploring the city at your leisure. (B)

Day 4 Today we explore Tokyo with a local guide through some of the city’s most vibrant districts. Highlights include the peaceful forest surroundings of Meiji Jingu, one of Tokyo’s most important Shinto shrines, the colourful energy of Harajuku’s Takeshita Street, and the world’s busiest intersection at Shibuya Crossing. This evening, we take in sweeping views from the open-air observation deck at Shibuya Sky before enjoying dinner overlooking the bright lights of the district. (B, L)

Day 5 Highlights showcase several sides of Tokyo. We visit the lively Tsukiji Outer Market, explore the historic grounds surrounding the Imperial Palace, and experience the electric atmosphere of Akihabara, the centre of Japan’s anime, gaming, and pop culture scene. In Asakusa we take part in a sushi-making experience before visiting Sensō-ji, Tokyo’s oldest temple, and strolling along the traditional stalls of Nakamise Street. This evening, we gather for dinner to enjoy an all-you-can-eat Japanese hot pot together. (B,D)

Day 6 Today is a free day to explore Tokyo at your own pace. You may wish to visit Tokyo Tower for sweeping city views, experience the immersive digital art at teamLab Planets, wander through the beautiful landscapes of Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden, or explore Japan’s rich history at the Tokyo National Museum. (B)

Day 7 Today’s highlights focus on the stunning landscapes surrounding Mt Fuji. We take in panoramic views from the Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway and enjoy a scenic cruise across Lake Kawaguchi with the mountain rising in the background. After a lakeside lunch, we visit the famous Chureito Pagoda, a five-storey pagoda offering spectacular views across the town and Mt Fuji. The day concludes with a traditional tempura dinner. (B)

four nights Kyoto

Day 8 After breakfast we head to Tokyo Station to board the famous bullet train to Kyoto. On arrival it’s a short walk to our hotel where we check in and settle into Japan’s historic cultural capital. (B)

Day 9 Exploring Kyoto today reveals many of the city’s most celebrated landmarks. Highlights include Kinkaku-ji, the iconic Golden Pavilion covered in real gold leaf, the preserved streets and teahouses of the Gion district, and Kiyomizu-dera, a UNESCO- listed temple famous for its large wooden stage built without nails. We also visit Sanjūsangen-dō, home to a remarkable hall lined with 1,001 statues of Kannon, before finishing at Fushimi Inari Taisha, one of Japan’s most photographed shrines, known for its thousands of bright red torii gates. Day 10 A visit to the scenic district of Arashiyama offers a refreshing change of pace from the city. Surrounded by mountains and river scenery, this area is known for its natural beauty and historic temples. Highlights include the famous Arashiyama Bamboo Grove, the elegant Zen gardens of Tenryu-ji, and Iwatayama Monkey Park where wild macaques roam freely, and views stretch out across Kyoto. Lunch will be enjoyed in the riverside area before returning later in the day. (B,L)

Day 11 Enjoy a leisurely day to experience Kyoto your way. Spend your final day revisiting a favourite spot, exploring areas you haven’t yet uncovered, enjoying a traditional tea experience, browsing local crafts, or simply taking in the charm of this remarkable city. (B)

 four nights Osaka

Day 12 After check out we travel to Nara, once Japan’s first permanent capital. Time here allows you to explore historic streets and peaceful parklands, including Nara Park where hundreds of friendly deer intermingle with curious onlookers and are considered sacred messengers in Japanese tradition. Later we continue on to Osaka. (B)

Day 13 Osaka’s history and modern skyline come together as we explore some of the city’s most well-known landmarks. Highlights include Shitennō-ji, considered Japan’s oldest officially administered Buddhist temple, Osaka Castle, one of the country’s most famous historic sites, and the striking Umeda Sky Building, known for its observation deck offering panoramic views across the city. This evening, we enjoy dinner in a special venue overlooking the lights of Osaka. (B,D)

Day 14 A day trip by bullet train takes us to Hiroshima. Visits here focus on the city’s powerful history, including the Atomic Bomb Dome, one of the few structures left standing after the 1945 atomic bombing, as well as the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park and Peace Memorial Museum. Later we continue to Miyajima Island, famous for it’s scenic beauty and the iconic Itsukushima Shrine, one of Japan’s most photographed sights. (B,L)

Day 15 Free time in Osaka allows you to explore the city at your own pace. You may wish to visit Universal Studios Japan, home to Super Nintendo World and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Alternatively, spend the day discovering Osaka’s lively food streets, shopping districts, and vibrant neighbourhoods. Alternatively, you could take a day trip to nearby cities such as Himeji, famous for its spectacular white castle, or Kobe, known for its harbour views and world-famous Kobe beef. (B)

three nights Kanazawa

Day 16 Travelling by train, we make our way to Kanazawa and check in to our hotel near the station. The afternoon is free before we come together in the evening for a group teppanyaki dinner. (B,D)

Day 17 Kanazawa offers a glimpse into Japan’s samurai heritage and traditional craftsmanship. Today we take part in a hands-on gold leaf experience. We’ll also visit the historic grounds of Kanazawa Castle, and the beautifully preserved Nomura Samurai House, providing insight into the lifestyle of a high-ranking samurai family. We also visit Kenrokuen Garden, considered one of the three most beautiful gardens in Japan. (B)

Day 18 The mountains of central Japan provide the setting for a full-day excursion to some of the region’s most scenic and historic towns. Highlights include the UNESCO World Heritage village of Shirakawa-go, famous for its traditional thatched-roof farmhouses, followed by a visit to Takayama, a beautifully preserved Edo-period town known for its traditional wooden streets and historic atmosphere. one night Tokyo

Day 19 A train journey brings us back to Tokyo where we check into our centrally located hotel. The remainder of the day is free to relax or explore more of the city. Tonight we celebrate our wonderful time together with a farewell group dinner (B,D)

We take the train to Narita Airport to begin the journey home via Nadi. As our time in Japan comes to a close, we return home with wonderful memories, new friendships, and unforgettable experiences from exploring this remarkable country together. (B)
